Head of Finance (Part‑Time) – Bournemouth

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance leader to join a growing business on a part‑time basis. The Head of Finance will provide strategic oversight, strengthen governance and help scale the finance function while working 2–3 days per week in our Bournemouth office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and ensure robust governance across the organisation.
• Review and sign‑off monthly management accounts, financial reporting and payroll.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, improve controls and drive efficiency.
• Mentor and develop the finance team, building capability and succession plans.
• Oversee working capital, revenue processes and debtor performance.
• Support commercial contracts and key business decisions with financial insight.
• Liaise with external advisers such as accountants, banks and professional partners.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with several years of senior finance experience.
• Commercially minded with a track record of improving processes and supporting growth.
• Strong governance and reporting expertise.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop finance teams.
• Comfortable working at a strategic level rather than day‑to‑day transaction processing.
