Head of HR Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Head of HR Operations to lead the development and execution of our HR Operations strategy. This senior role will shape the vision for people services, ensuring they are efficient, scalable and aligned with the broader People & Culture priorities of Arqiva.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute plans to realise the HR Operations vision and drive outcomes for the People & Culture function.
• Oversee delivery of HR helpdesk, case management, payroll provision, and policy support.
• Ensure governance, compliance and risk management across all HR operational processes, adhering to employment law and best practice.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and technology, managing vendor relationships as required.
• Analyse employee query trends to provide insights on employee experience and recommend enhancements.
• Collaborate with People & Culture leadership to integrate HR Operations with wider strategies.
• Maintain respectful relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
• Facilitate organisational design changes in a legally compliant and minimally disruptive manner.
• Build a culture of service excellence, lead and develop the HR Operations team, and model Arqiva’s cultural goals.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in HR operations or a comparable people‑services function.
• Strong understanding of employment law, HR governance and risk management.
• Track record of driving process improvement and technology adoption in HR.
• Excellent stakeholder management, including experience working with trade unions.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and communicate transparently across the organisation.
