Head of Insurance Investment Accounting – EMEA Expansion

About the role

Join Northern Trust as the EMEA Head of Insurance Investment Accounting, leading the localisation and expansion of our insurance investment accounting product for the UK market. You will shape a modern, scalable solution that meets the regulatory and reporting needs of UK insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product localisation and development to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS (including IFRS 17), Solvency II and SORP.
• Collaborate with Sales to acquire and onboard the first UK beta client, presenting the solution’s value proposition.
• Design and refine the operational model for investment accounting, overseeing month‑end close, reconciliations and data integration.
• Produce UK‑compliant client reporting, including P&L, trial balances and regulatory disclosures.
• Coordinate with Operational, Client Servicing and Product Management teams to deliver seamless support.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in insurance investment accounting.
• Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS (especially IFRS 17), Solvency II and SORP requirements.
• Proven ability to lead product localisation and cross‑functional initiatives.
• Strong client‑facing skills with experience in sales collaboration and onboarding.
• Track record of building robust operational and reporting models.
