Head of Litigation Department – Solicitor (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive to lead our litigation department in Axminster, Devon. This hybrid position offers the chance to manage a diverse caseload while developing leadership skills, with training provided for supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of litigation matters, including civil and commercial disputes, landlord & tenant issues, debt claims, contentious probate, and property litigation.
• Oversee the department’s workflow, ensuring high-quality case handling and timely delivery.
• Collaborate closely with senior colleagues across the firm while maintaining autonomy over your files.
• Develop and mentor junior team members as the department grows.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience in litigation.
• Strong analytical and case‑management abilities.
• Previous supervisory or mentoring experience is advantageous but not essential.
