Head of Marketing and Communications

About the role

Virgin Unite is seeking a strategic and hands‑on leader to shape and tell the story of its global impact. You will own the brand, marketing and communications agenda, driving bold campaigns, thought leadership and reputation management across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of Virgin Unite’s brand, marketing and communications strategy across earned, owned and paid media.
• Design compelling campaigns and storytelling that translate complex social and environmental issues into engaging content.
• Drive the evolution of the Virgin Unite brand, including messaging, editorial direction and digital presence.
• Build thought‑leadership opportunities for senior leaders, supporting speeches, media engagements and social content.
• Strengthen reputation through strategic media relations and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with Virgin family teams, funded partners and incubated initiatives to ensure integrated communications.
• Balance high‑level strategic planning with hands‑on execution, from writing and editing to content creation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marketing, brand and communications, preferably within a non‑profit, charity or purpose‑driven environment.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling ability for diverse audiences and channels.
• Strong understanding of digital communications, social media and content marketing.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and translating complex ideas into clear messages.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑moving setting.
• Genuine curiosity and passion for social justice, planetary health and responsible business.
• Collaborative, proactive attitude with willingness to both shape strategy and execute.
