Head of Product Engineering – Retail (Hybrid)

About the role

ClearCourse is seeking a Head of Product Engineering for its Retail division. The role will lead a large, technically diverse engineering vertical across nine SaaS products, driving strategy, AI adoption and engineering excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop Product Technical Leads across nine products spanning six technology stacks.
• Own engineering capacity, delivery and performance, ensuring high-quality output.
• Drive consistency, AI-assisted development and modern engineering practices across the portfolio.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape technology strategy and product priorities.
• Champion continuous improvement, scalable processes and technical innovation.
• Help define the future structure of the Retail engineering function as the business scales.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a product-led, SaaS environment.
• Strong technical credibility with the ability to challenge and support senior engineers.
• Experience managing multiple products or engineering teams simultaneously.
• Track record of building high-performing technical teams and stakeholder management.
• Strategic planning skills and commercial thinking.
• Passion for modern engineering practices and AI-enabled development.

Required skills

• Experience with AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude.
