Head of Tax

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is seeking a Head of Tax to lead its tax function at the Hethel plant. You will shape tax strategy, ensure compliance, and provide strategic advice to senior leadership across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement the Group Tax Strategy, policy and governance framework.
• Establish tax governance processes, risk matrices and supporting documentation.
• Review and enhance tax controls within accounting and financial systems.
• Prepare tax accounting disclosures and oversee Group reporting obligations.
• Drive tax planning initiatives while ensuring full compliance with legislation and Group policies.
• Identify and implement tax‑efficient structures to support current and future business activities.
• Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate impact across the business.
• Act as primary contact for HMRC and other tax authorities in all operating regions.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and submissions.
• Maintain the Group Tax Risk Register and associated controls.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing tax team.

Required profile

• Professional accountancy or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
• Strong in‑house corporate tax experience covering Corporation Tax, VAT and Employment Taxes (PAYE).
• Proven ability to lead a tax function and influence senior stakeholders.
