Health & Safety Advisor (12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will help ensure compliance with legislation, promote best practice and foster a proactive safety culture across our sites.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, review and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures and guidance.
• Provide advice to managers on health and safety management systems and risk assessments.
• Conduct COSHH assessments, safe systems of work and DSE assessments.
• Manage accident and incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate PPE provision, lone‑working arrangements and occupational health surveillance programmes.
• Maintain First Aid, fire marshal arrangements and ensure routine fire safety checks.
• Carry out workplace inspections, health and safety audits and recommend improvements.
• Produce reports and performance information for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a health and safety advisory or officer role.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, COSHH and risk assessment methodology.
• Ability to work collaboratively with managers, site staff and external providers.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.

• Competitive salary range £34,000‑£37,000 per annum.
