Health & Safety Compliance Lead – Pharmaceutical (3‑Month FTC)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Compliance Lead to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer on a three‑month fixed‑term contract. You will be responsible for reviewing, strengthening and embedding health & safety compliance across the site, ensuring the business is inspection‑ready and equipped with sustainable processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health & safety and compliance audits across all operational areas.
• Identify and close critical and high‑risk compliance gaps.
• Update and enhance key documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments and COSHH records.
• Implement improved systems and processes to support ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and operational teams to embed best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• NEBOSH, IOSH or an equivalent health & safety qualification.
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or other regulated GMP environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, COSHH and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to conduct audits and deliver measurable compliance improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
