Healthcare Lawyer – Inquests Specialist (Liverpool)

About the role

This role offers a qualified solicitor or barrister the chance to specialise in inquest work within a leading national law firm’s healthcare practice. Based in Liverpool, you will join a collaborative team that advises public and private organisations on complex, high‑profile health and social care matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and represent clients throughout inquest proceedings, including courtroom advocacy.
• Provide guidance on public law issues such as governance, constitutional matters, judicial review, human rights and public/patient consultation.
• Assist with Court of Protection matters when required.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering commercially focused advice.
• Identify opportunities to expand the practice and contribute to business development.
• Work closely with colleagues across the wider healthcare team on multidisciplinary cases.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 12 months of experience handling inquest matters.
• Strong advocacy and communication abilities.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality client service.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with an interest in practice growth.
• Experience in the healthcare sector or Court of Protection is advantageous but not essential.
