Heavy Plant Fitter – £23-25/hr Full‑time (Late Shift)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join a long‑established family business in Redbourn. This permanent, full‑time position works the late shift with overtime and weekend availability, offering the chance to work on a variety of specialist heavy‑plant machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy plant equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Provide breakdown support both in the workshop and on‑site.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Mechanic or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and diesel engines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
