Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Cover Supervisor

About the role

This position is for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who will act as a Cover Supervisor in a large primary school in Wembley. It is designed for candidates who want to progress toward Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while gaining hands‑on classroom experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead whole‑class lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Deliver targeted small‑group and intervention teaching.
• Support planning, preparation and assessment activities.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to map out a pathway to teacher training.

Required profile

• Current HLTA or graduate teaching assistant seeking career progression.
• Confidence in leading both small groups and whole classes.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ambition to complete teacher training and achieve QTS.
