Hospitality, Supermarket Assistant – South Harrow

About the role

Waitrose is recruiting a Hospitality, Supermarket Assistant for its South Harrow branch (140 Northolt Road, London). The role is advertised for Brent Cross and South Harrow only, with varied part-time hours across seven days including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends. The pay is £14.55 per hour, rising to £14.80 after 90 days of Earning Membership; night work between 22:00 and 06:00 earns a premium of £3.75 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own food counter, keeping presentation and hygiene standards high at all times
• Keep track of stock levels so customers' favourite products are always available
• Handle open food carefully and follow health and safety protocols, helping to reduce food wastage
• Stay up to date with new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed

Required profile

• Ability to work flexibly across service counters, including handling raw meat and fish
• Good communication skills to work well as part of a team and with customers
• Desirable: experience in a customer-facing role, in catering or hospitality, and up-to-date knowledge of food and drink trends
