About the role
As a Housekeeping Assistant in a Barchester care home you will help create a warm, clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff. Your daily work ensures that each living area is tidy, hygienic and welcoming, directly supporting the wellbeing of our residents.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and tidy resident rooms, bathrooms and communal areas following health and safety standards.
- Maintain floors, surfaces and furnishings, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with laundry handling and waste disposal according to care home protocols.
- Support infection control measures by using appropriate cleaning products and procedures.
Required profile
- A caring and personable attitude towards residents and colleagues.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
