Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

Marie Curie is seeking dedicated Housekeeping Assistants to join the Liverpool Hospice team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff, supporting the hospice’s mission of providing compassionate end‑of‑life care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, communal areas, and clinical spaces to the highest hygiene standards.
• Manage laundry services, ensuring linen is clean, sorted, and stored correctly.
• Assist with infection‑control procedures, including proper handling of hazardous substances.
• Support the housekeeping team by covering absences and flexible shift requirements.
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and report any maintenance issues.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a housekeeping role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including covering annual leave or sickness.
• Empathy for the hospice ethos and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• COSHH awareness and understanding of health‑and‑safety procedures.
