Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Valarian Court Care Home, you will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for 70 residents, supporting both cleaning and laundry services.

Key responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards.
• Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, labeling and returning clothing.
• Follow infection control, health and safety, and housekeeping procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and adhere to scheduled alternate weekend shifts.

Required profile

• Positive and reliable attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control (beneficial).
• Previous experience in cleaning or laundry is welcomed but not essential.

• £12.71 per hour on a 24‑hour per week contract.
• Paid DBS check, pension and uniform provided.
