HR Advisor (Employee Relations)

About the role

We are seeking an HR Advisor to provide expert employee‑relations support to managers and leaders in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. The role is hands‑on, managing complex cases while promoting best‑practice people management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely ER advice to managers via phone, written and in‑person support.
• Manage a high volume of complex ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability, whistleblowing, redundancy, TUPE and change management.
• Coach and support managers, balancing commercial needs with employment‑law best practice.
• Review and quality‑check investigation reports, letters and ER documentation.
• Support ACAS early conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases.
• Maintain accurate ER case records and reporting.
• Identify ER trends and contribute to policy, process and template improvements.
• Support ER training delivery and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ employee‑relations casework experience.
• Strong working knowledge of current UK employment law.
• Experience managing complex, high‑volume ER cases.
• Confident communicator with strong influencing and coaching skills.
• Well‑organised, detail‑focused and able to work under pressure.
• CIPD qualified or working towards (desirable).
• ACAS / Employment Tribunal experience (desirable).
