HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our growing team in Cambridge. In this senior‑level position you will work closely with senior leaders to shape people strategy, influence business performance and drive a high‑performing, people‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to align people strategies with business objectives.
• Provide expert advice on employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management.
• Lead complex HR casework ensuring commercially sound and legally compliant outcomes.
• Support organisational change, restructures and redundancy consultations.
• Drive initiatives that improve employee engagement, retention and overall performance.
• Lead and enhance performance management processes across the organisation.
• Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to attract top talent.
• Review and develop HR policies in line with current employment legislation.
• Analyse people data to provide insights that support business decisions.
• Contribute to reward and benefits strategy development.
• Coach and develop managers to build confidence in leading their teams.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems and projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor.
• Strong employee‑relations knowledge with confidence handling complex cases.
• Excellent understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Commercial awareness and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience supporting organisational change and business transformation.
• Solid recruitment, talent‑management and performance‑management background.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
