HR Business Partner – Workforce Change & Restructuring (AVP)

About the role

The HR Business Partner – Workforce Change & Restructuring (AVP) will support Barclays‑wide change programmes, including restructuring, outsourcing, new site set‑up and cross‑entity initiatives. Working in a hybrid model, you will partner with in‑country HRBPs, employee relations and specialist functions to deliver effective change across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HR workstreams for change programmes such as restructurings, LEE transfers, outsourcing and insourcing.
• Manage project initiation, due diligence, consultation, implementation and communication plans.
• Provide governance, risk oversight and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with unions, works councils and senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally.
• Analyse data, produce reports and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in workforce change, restructuring and union liaison, preferably in heavily unionised environments.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale change programmes, both within and outside the UK.
• Strong understanding of current employment legislation and cultural/geographic sensitivities.
• Excellent project, change and stakeholder management capabilities in a matrixed organisation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (merging sheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data quality checks).
• Project Management methodology and tools.
