HR Coordinator

About the role

The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (University of Cambridge) is looking for an HR Coordinator to join its administration team and report to the Senior HR Coordinator. Based at the Cambridge Mind and Brain Institute (CMBI) on Chaucer Road, the role coordinates a comprehensive HR and payroll support service for all staff, supporting the institute's research and postgraduate education.

Key responsibilities

• Take the lead on recruitment and visa matters.
• Provide clear and accurate advice to staff on HR policy and employment relations issues.
• Deliver a helpful and accurate service on contractual changes, payroll changes and relevant HR reports.
• Coordinate regular annual schemes such as reward, appraisal and the HR elements of the Summer Research Placement Schemes.
• Assist with postgraduate research (PGR) matters where necessary.

Required profile

• Experience in HR in a coordinator role.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong work ethic and motivation to learn new skills and keep up with policy and regulatory changes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy variety in daily tasks.
