HR Manager – Field Based, Multi‑Site

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HR Manager to support a fast‑paced, multi‑site organisation with a large frontline workforce. The role is field‑based, requiring frequent regional travel and offers flexibility to work from home. You will act as a trusted HR partner to Regional and Area Managers, delivering practical HR solutions that drive performance, engagement and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex, high‑volume employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, investigations, appeals, restructures and TUPE.
• Coach and develop line managers in effective people management.
• Support recruitment and workforce planning across multiple sites.
• Deliver HR initiatives and change projects.
• Analyse HR metrics such as turnover, absence and retention.
• Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies.
• Support organisational change and operational projects.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 qualification.
• Experience in a multi‑site operational environment, preferably in retail, FMCG, hospitality, logistics, leisure or similar.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Proven track record handling complex employee relations cases.
• Experience rolling out and managing employee rights legislation.
• Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel regularly (60‑70% travel).
• Easy commute to Liverpool or Manchester area and immediate availability for a temporary role with a view to permanence.
