Hygiene Operator - 4 on 4 off, 6pm-6am

About the role

Albert Bartlett is looking for a Hygiene Operator to join its Chilled Production team in Airdrie. The role sits within the Hygiene team and ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety across the production facility. It is a full-time position on a 4 on 4 off rotational pattern, working 6:00pm to 6:00am, reporting to the Hygiene Team Leader or Hygiene Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production lines, machinery, equipment and factory areas to company standards.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment safely to make cleaning effective.
• Follow cleaning schedules, procedures and work instructions.
• Complete hygiene and cleaning records accurately.
• Follow colour-coding requirements for cleaning equipment and use chemicals safely under COSHH guidelines.
• Maintain hygiene stores and cleaning equipment in a clean, organised condition.
• Identify and report equipment defects, damage or potential contamination risks.
• Work safely and comply with Health & Safety procedures, and support production teams in keeping the workplace clean and compliant.
• Take part in hygiene audits and continuous improvement activities as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment.
• Previous cleaning or hygiene experience within manufacturing.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Good understanding of the importance of food safety and hygiene.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH and food safety procedures.
