Hygiene Operator - Night Shift (Mon-Fri)

About the role

Due to continued growth, Albert Bartlett is looking for a Hygiene Operator for its chilled processed potato facility in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. The post is full-time, on the night shift (Monday to Friday, 22:00-06:00), reporting to the Hygiene Team Leader or Hygiene Supervisor. The operator keeps production and processing areas clean and sanitised in line with company procedures, food safety standards and health and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production equipment, machinery, utensils, parts and work areas.
• Carry out deep cleaning according to hygiene schedules and follow colour-coding procedures for cleaning equipment.
• Complete cleaning documentation, records and checklists accurately.
• Ensure correct dilution, handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, and follow COSHH, food safety and health and safety procedures.
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE and report hygiene, safety, maintenance or quality concerns to management.
• Keep cleaning cupboards, equipment and stores tidy and organised, and support production teams in maintaining GMP standards.
• Assist during audits and inspections and help colleagues meet hygiene and cleanliness targets.

Required profile

• Good attention to detail and ability to work safely and follow procedures.
• Reliable, dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to work and overtime where required.
• Desirable: previous hygiene, cleaning or food manufacturing experience, knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, experience with industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals, and understanding of GMP and HACCP principles.
