ICT Technician Apprentice

About the role

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for two enthusiastic ICT Technician Apprentices to join its busy ICT department. This full‑time, on‑site apprenticeship offers a paid salary while you study for a Level 3 qualification over two years.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support to staff across five hospital sites via phone, remote desktop or on‑site visits.
• Diagnose, rectify and log faults related to PCs, telephones and other ICT equipment.
• Maintain user accounts, system rights and password resets for NHS Net email and clinical systems.
• Assist with software upgrades, installations and configuration of PC and telecoms systems.
• Test and evaluate ICT devices under manager direction and ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Adhere to Service Level Agreements and record activity in the Service Desk application.

Required profile

• Strong interest in an ICT career and GCSE grades 4‑9 (C‑A*) in Maths, English and ICT.
• Demonstrated ability in PC hardware and software maintenance, supported by personal project examples.
• Willingness to undertake academic study for the full two‑year apprenticeship.
• Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and NHS Trust values.
• Not already qualified in ICT at a professional level.
