In-House Corporate Lawyer – Private Equity & M&A

About the role

A dynamic private equity firm in Brighton is seeking an ambitious corporate lawyer with 4+ years post‑qualification experience. This in‑house position offers genuine exposure to the full private‑equity lifecycle and close collaboration with senior stakeholders and deal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions.
• Support private‑equity investments and exits.
• Draft and negotiate key documentation such as SPAs, investment agreements and NDAs.
• Manage and coordinate due‑diligence processes.
• Provide ongoing corporate and strategic advice to portfolio companies.
• Take ownership of transactions and act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership.

Required profile

• UK‑qualified solicitor with strong corporate experience.
• Background in M&A, preferably with exposure to private‑equity or complex transactions.
• Commercially minded and pragmatic.
• Confident working closely with non‑legal stakeholders.
• Desire to step into a broader, business‑facing role with real influence.
