In-House Legal Counsel – Private Client (Estate Planning)

About the role

We are seeking an In‑House Legal Counsel to lead private‑client supervision within our estate‑planning team. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney without billable targets, offering a balanced work‑life environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and quality‑assure wills, trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney to ensure legal and technical accuracy.
• Provide feedback and necessary amendments to meet clients’ estate‑planning objectives.
• Collaborate with solicitors and technical professionals, offering guidance and support throughout case progression.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal processes.
• Respond to ad‑hoc queries from the wider team to enhance client service.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor, CILEX, STEP or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of estate planning and wills drafting.
• Experience with tax planning related to lifetime planning.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What we offer

• Salary between £30,001 and £45,000 per year.
