Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Indirect Tax professional to join a growing professional services firm in Glasgow. The role sits within a collaborative indirect tax team, serving a diverse mid‑market client base on advisory‑led VAT work, international projects and complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage indirect tax compliance and advisory work across a varied client portfolio.
• Provide technically strong VAT advisory support on transactions, structuring and international projects.
• Own client relationships, delivering commercially focused VAT advice and risk mitigation.
• Identify opportunities to improve client processes and add value.
• Lead and mentor junior team members, reviewing and delegating work.
• Support business development initiatives and generate new project opportunities.
• Collaborate with directors and leadership across offices to ensure high‑quality delivery.

Required profile

• Strong background in indirect tax/VAT advisory within a professional services environment.
• Experience with international VAT, complex transactions and advisory projects.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
• Commercial awareness and interest in business development.
• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
