Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

The Indirect Tax Manager will lead all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory for a well‑established company in Abingdon. This permanent position offers the chance to apply deep VAT expertise in a supportive, medium‑sized team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end indirect tax compliance processes, ensuring full regulatory adherence.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings on time.
• Provide expert advice on VAT and other indirect tax matters to internal stakeholders.
• Identify tax efficiency opportunities and implement strategies to optimise the organisation’s tax position.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with other departments to embed tax compliance across operations.
• Support tax audits and resolve queries with external authorities.
• Deliver training and updates to non‑tax specialists within the company.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of VAT and indirect tax regulations.
• Relevant professional qualifications in tax or accounting.
• Proven experience managing compliance processes and delivering strategic tax advice.
• Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
