About the role
We are looking for a qualified Industrial Electrician to join a growing engineering installation team based on the Wirral. The role involves delivering permanent and temporary power solutions across the UK for a specialist business in power generation and critical infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Install cable containment systems such as ladder racks, trays, trunking and conduit.
- Pull, terminate, gland and test SWA and industrial power cabling.
- Install, maintain and fault‑find generators, CHP units, control panels and PLCs.
- Carry out inspection, testing and annual service activities including insulation resistance testing.
- Support commissioning of permanent and temporary power systems nationwide.
- Retrofit generator control systems, inverter drives, power factor correction equipment and lighting.
- Assist with mains cable installations, switchgear projects and electrical upgrades.
- Complete service documentation and defect reporting using digital software.
- Provide technical guidance to apprentices and junior engineers and work alongside mechanical teams while adhering to electrical safety standards.
- Participate in an on‑call rota to respond to customer requirements across multiple sites.
Required profile
- Fully qualified Industrial Electrician with a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
- At least three years’ experience in commercial, industrial, power generation, utilities or critical infrastructure environments.
- 18th Edition qualification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent) and Inspection & Testing qualification (2391).
- ECS Gold Card.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
