Information Security Consultant (ISO 27001)

About the role

We are seeking an Information Security Consultant with deep ISO 27001 expertise to support a large, complex organisation that treats information security as a strategic priority. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with technology, operations, risk, compliance and business teams to embed security controls and maintain ISO 27001 compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the ISO 27001 ISMS.
• Conduct internal ISO 27001 audits and assessments across multiple business functions.
• Identify, assess and remediate compliance gaps with stakeholders.
• Assist with external audits and certification activities.
• Review and maintain security policies, standards, procedures and controls.
• Perform risk assessments and develop risk treatment plans.
• Provide advice on information security best practices.
• Drive awareness and training initiatives throughout the organisation.
• Produce audit reports, findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Promote continuous improvement of security governance and compliance processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing, maintaining or auditing ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Strong background in managing an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
• Hands‑on experience with internal audits and compliance assessments.
• Knowledge of information security governance, risk and compliance activities.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional business and technology teams.
• Experience supporting external certification and audit processes.
• Desirable: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer certification; familiarity with NIST, Cyber Essentials or CIS Controls; experience in large enterprise or regulated environments.
