In‑House Knowledge Lawyer – Legal Adviser

About the role

The UK Civil Aviation Authority is seeking an in‑house Knowledge Lawyer to lead the development of a knowledge‑sharing function within its Office of the General Counsel. This hybrid role will help shape legal processes, improve efficiency and support the regulator’s wide‑ranging aviation responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and promote a knowledge database and sharing processes across the legal team.
• Draft, maintain and enhance legal precedents, templates, checklists and guidance notes.
• Drive efficiencies by applying AI tools to legal workflows and processes.
• Produce timely internal updates and client‑facing briefings.
• Support legal advisers in preparing client and team training sessions.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with at least 6 years post‑qualification experience.
• Enthusiastic about acquiring new knowledge and working collaboratively.
• Strong organisational and forward‑thinking mindset.
• Willingness to work in a regulatory environment, with transferable legal skills.

Required skills

• Experience drafting and maintaining legal precedents, templates and guidance notes.
• Familiarity with AI tools to improve legal workflows.
• Ability to produce clear internal updates and client‑facing briefings.

What we offer

• Salary up to £84,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Permanent contract, full‑time or part‑time.
