Innovation Manager (Maternity Cover) - 12 Month Fixed Term

About the role

Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS AHSN) is recruiting an Innovation Manager on maternity cover for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role sits in the Innovation & Enterprise team, which engages with health technology companies and other innovators (clinical and academic) across digital, medical technology, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, and with local health and care partners. It reports to the Head of Portfolio - Innovation & Enterprise and leads a portfolio of products and initiatives.

The base is the primary office at The Beehive in Gatwick/Crawley, with satellite arrangements in Guildford and Brighton. The role is predominantly remote but hybrid, and post holders must be based in, or able to attend meetings in, the Kent, Surrey and Sussex geography, travelling to satellite offices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of products and innovation needs areas, working with the Director of Innovation & Enterprise and Heads of Portfolio.
• Deliver tailored support packages to industry and innovators, including 1:1 and 1:many offers, under the Universal, Enhanced and Distinctive offers.
• Contribute to income and the income pipeline: bid and grant applications, securing contracts for support packages, and delivering them via a consultancy timesheet approach.
• Develop new service offerings, market existing ones and cultivate new customers.
• Link innovators with health and care organisations to spread adoption of innovation and support innovators' growth.
• Advise on commercialisation, market access and real-world validation, and review and triage companies for support.
• Share case studies, lessons learned and communicate successful implementations.
• Work with a wide range of stakeholders, including innovators, health and care systems, business support organisations and academic institutions.
• Design additional programmes to deliver business support outcomes such as jobs created, investment leveraged and exports.
