Intensive Support Project Worker

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Intensive Support Project Worker to help people affected by homelessness build stability, independence and a positive future. The role is based in Southend‑on‑Sea and involves delivering personalised, recovery‑focused support to residents living in supported accommodation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored housing‑related support to help residents sustain their tenancies.
• Develop and review assessments, risk management plans and personalised recovery support plans.
• Build warm, professional relationships with residents.
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Work in partnership with statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
• Deliver recovery‑focused activities, wellbeing groups and life‑skills opportunities.
• Complete and record health and safety checks within supported accommodation.
• Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for residents.
• Work occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.

Required profile

• Experience or knowledge of supporting people affected by homelessness.
• Ability to work in a calm, sensitive, client‑led manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Resilience, patience and confidence when responding to challenging situations.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care, Housing, IAG or a related subject (beneficial but not essential).
