Interim Accountant (3‑6 months) – London

About the role

This interim position offers a finance professional the chance to join a tight‑knit accounting team within a private‑equity firm for three to six months. You will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting and support a range of accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare group financial statements and monthly management accounts.
• Submit quarterly VAT returns and assist with annual corporate tax filings.
• Maintain purchase/sales invoices, expense postings, and the fixed‑asset register.
• Process monthly journals for pre‑payments and accruals.
• Manage bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support cash management, payment runs, FX forecasting, and payroll.
• Assist the fund‑accounting team with compliance and the annual audit process.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks as required by senior management.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of relevant experience in financial services or a SME environment.
• Qualified or finalist level (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Experience with consolidations and multi‑currency accounting is beneficial.

Required skills

• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Working knowledge of Sage Line 50.
• Familiarity with Xero accounting software.
