Interim Accountant – Insurance

About the role

We are partnering with a leading international reinsurer to hire an experienced accountant with a strong insurance background. The role is based in London and offers a maternity‑cover contract, providing exposure to multi‑jurisdictional reporting and FP&A responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare regulatory submissions for European entities, including Lloyd’s QMA, Solvency UK, US/Canadian Situs, TRIA, NAIC, CBI QRTs, and statutory financial statements.
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring transaction accuracy and proper financial disclosure.
• Analyse regional results for management and board reporting.
• Assist with the regional annual budgeting process.
• Partner with business teams to add value across finance functions.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Contribute to finance and wider business project work.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with demonstrable insurance industry experience, preferably Lloyd’s.
• Solid knowledge of US and UK GAAP and regulatory reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel ability with strong numerical skills.
• Proven problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
• Self‑motivated with a methodical, thorough approach.
