Interim Finance Manager

About the role

A leading manufacturing organisation in Tiverton is seeking an experienced Finance Manager on a nine‑month interim basis. The role combines hands‑on leadership of a small finance team with responsibility for high‑quality reporting, forecasting and commercial support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support a small finance team.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight for operational decisions.
• Partner with project and operational teams to improve performance.
• Review and enhance financial controls and processes.
• Support statutory audit and year‑end reporting.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain strong control processes.
• Monitor performance against budgets, flagging risks and opportunities.
• Assist senior management with ad‑hoc reporting and finance projects.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant.
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance staff.
• Strong management‑accounting, reporting and forecasting expertise.
• Hands‑on approach with strategic and operational finance experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Confident business partner for finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or project‑led environments is advantageous.
