Interim Financial Controller – Immediate Start – London (Hybrid)

About the role

This interim position offers an experienced finance professional the chance to lead the finance function of a well‑established SME during a pivotal period of change. You will work closely with senior leadership, providing stability and structure while the business transitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close process and produce timely management accounts.
• Manage payroll and oversee UK and overseas VAT compliance.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring, financial reporting and day‑to‑day financial control.
• Collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve reporting and processes.
• Use Excel extensively to analyse data and generate meaningful management information.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Interim Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant.
• Comfortable joining businesses in transition and quickly establishing credibility.
• Resilient, pragmatic and able to work with imperfect information while driving improvements.
• Excellent Excel skills and a detail‑oriented approach.
• Available to start at short notice.

• Day rate of £600–£750, dependent on experience.
