Interim Group Financial Controller

About the role

This interim assignment supports a multi‑site group headquartered in central Southampton. You will step in at short notice to lead a small finance team, ensure smooth month‑end closes and provide continuity for the CFO during a transition period.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver month‑end close and management accounts across four entities.
• Lead a finance team handling accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
• Maintain financial controls and manage daily cash across multiple bank accounts.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to the CFO and ensure business continuity.
• Document finance processes and prepare a comprehensive handover for the incoming permanent controller.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven Financial Controller experience.
• Comfortable in a high‑volume, multi‑entity environment.
• Available immediately or at short notice.
• Calm, hands‑on approach with the ability to integrate quickly.

Required skills

• NetSuite (highly advantageous).
• Advanced Excel.
