Interim Head of Local Marketing & Recruitment

About the role

This interim position reports to the Pro Vice‑Chancellor and provides strategic leadership for local marketing, outreach and student recruitment across multiple campuses. You will shape the recruitment strategy, manage a high‑performing team and ensure campaigns align with the university’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic direction of local marketing and student recruitment activities.
• Lead, develop and motivate a team of marketing and recruitment professionals.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to influence recruitment strategy and organisational priorities.
• Oversee recruitment marketing campaigns, outreach initiatives and conversion processes.
• Analyse performance data, market trends and campaign effectiveness to inform continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, ensuring maximum return on investment.
• Lead change projects to enhance marketing processes, systems and ways of working.
• Build strong relationships with academic and professional services stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and sector best practice.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior marketing and recruitment leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering successful strategic marketing plans.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Excellent analytical ability to use data for strategic decision‑making.
• Experience managing budgets and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Previous experience in higher education or a complex multi‑site organisation is highly desirable.
