Interim Legal Counsel – Financial Markets

About the role

This interim position offers a six‑month opportunity to join a leading global financial‑markets infrastructure organisation. You will work within a fast‑paced legal team that supports clearing, trading and risk‑management activities across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including clearing documentation, OTC derivatives, investment‑management and commercial contracts.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal, contractual and regulatory advice to business stakeholders.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidance.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations and front‑office teams to meet business requirements.
• Support BAU operational requests and initiatives with a solution‑focused approach.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with experience in a clearing house, bank or investment firm.
• Background in OTC derivatives, clearing or prime‑brokerage matters.
• Strong understanding of financial‑services regulation, particularly FCA‑regulated environments.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial and financial‑services agreements.
• Comfortable engaging directly with stakeholders in a commercial, fast‑paced setting.
