Interim Management Accountant – Hybrid, Liverpool

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant on an interim basis to join a well‑established finance team in Liverpool. The role offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to work 2‑3 days in the office and the remainder remotely, while supporting senior finance leaders with month‑end reporting and strategic analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and journal entries.
• Produce income and expenditure reports and maintain ledger integrity.
• Assist with annual budgets, re‑forecasts and long‑term business planning.
• Provide detailed financial analysis, identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Investigate variances and deliver commentary for budget holders and senior management.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and support dashboard development.
• Support financial modelling, forecasting and business case preparation.
• Deliver ad‑hoc costings, reports and analysis as required.
• Assist project teams with robust financial information and commercial insight.
• Help with recharge processes, invoicing and accurate record‑keeping.
• Support the Financial Controller in meeting finance objectives and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Experienced Management Accountant with strong month‑end accounting expertise.
• Highly analytical with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
• Comfortable influencing and collaborating with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Financial modelling.
• Forecasting and budgeting.
• KPI monitoring and reporting.

What we offer

• Salary £50,000‑£54,000 pro rata per year.
