Interim Management Accountant

About the role

The company is seeking an Interim Management Accountant on a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract to deliver high‑quality management accounts and commercial insight within a fast‑paced, project‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate, timely monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis.
• Deliver commercial reporting on revenue, margin, costs and working capital.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to challenge performance and influence decisions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting across a multi‑site, project‑led business.
• Assist with year‑end processes, including audit and statutory reporting.
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses for business cases.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong post‑qualification experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP and financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work with non‑finance stakeholders and add commercial value.
• Experience in construction, property services or other project‑based environments.
• Exposure to Power BI, Power Query or reporting transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central or Finance & Operations).
