Interim Site Director – FMCG (6-month contract)

About the role

This interim position provides senior operational leadership for a FMCG manufacturing site in Middlesbrough for a six‑month period. You will ensure safe, efficient and compliant production while maintaining performance continuity until a permanent Site Director is appointed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day site operations, covering Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
• Maintain existing operating standards, plans and priorities throughout the interim period.
• Deploy manufacturing capability and resources to meet production and delivery targets.
• Provide visible floor‑level leadership to sustain stability and confidence.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, structured problem‑solving and performance management.
• Monitor site KPIs, address issues promptly and ensure accurate performance reporting.
• Oversee production planning and scheduling to achieve quality and delivery goals.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Strong track record of managing cross‑functional teams across operations, supply chain and engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high safety and quality standards under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
