Island Community Support Worker – Female Preferred

About the role

We are looking for dedicated Island Community Support Workers to deliver essential home‑care services to adults living on Scotland’s islands. This position offers the chance to make a real difference while enjoying the unique lifestyle of island communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care, medication administration and safe moving and handling in clients’ homes.
• Carry out multiple daily visits, ensuring continuity and high‑quality care.
• Work independently, adhering to lone‑working safety standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and contribute to care‑plan development.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with clients and families.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience supporting older adults, preferably in home‑care settings.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Flexibility to work 5‑6 days a week across shifts from 07:00 to 23:00.
• Experience of island or remote placements is advantageous.
• Female candidates are preferred for specific personal‑care requirements.

What we offer

• Minimum 3‑month contract with the possibility of extension.
• 45+ hours per week.
• Pay rate up to £21 per hour (umbrella) or £17.91 PAYE.
