IT Engineer Degree Apprentice

About the role

We are looking for an IT Engineer Degree Apprentice to join Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust’s Central IT Team. This apprenticeship combines higher‑level academic study with hands‑on experience, supporting over 5,500 pupils across multiple schools and helping to build a modern, secure and reliable IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line and second‑line technical support to staff and students.
• Manage and resolve help‑desk tickets in line with service standards.
• Install, maintain and repair IT hardware, software and peripherals.
• Support Microsoft 365, Windows desktop environments and cloud‑based services.
• Assist with network, server and telephony troubleshooting.
• Contribute to cybersecurity, safeguarding and data‑protection compliance.
• Maintain IT asset registers, documentation and inventories.
• Support SharePoint development and digital collaboration platforms.
• Help deliver projects such as infrastructure upgrades and technology roll‑outs.
• Monitor backup, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity processes.

Required profile

• Experience providing first‑line and second‑line IT support.
• Ability to work across multiple school sites and travel as needed.
• Full UK driving licence or willingness to travel between sites.
