IT Field Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Field Engineer to provide on‑site BAU support across multiple client locations. This contractor role involves regular travel to deliver hardware deployments, installations, break‑fix services and first‑line technical assistance in a Microsoft‑centric environment.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to various customer sites to deliver on‑site IT support.
• Deploy, install and refresh Windows‑based hardware and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer and peripheral issues.
• Triaging and escalating support tickets using an ITSM system.
• Support AV equipment, meeting‑room setups and conferencing technology.
• Maintain clear communication with end‑users and external clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Field Engineer or in mobile IT support.
• Strong background supporting Windows/ Microsoft environments.
• Comfortable travelling between sites on a daily basis.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence preferred or willingness to travel extensively.
