Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

Motorola Solutions' Alta Video team builds cloud-based video security systems with AI video analytics. The Alta Video backend team develops the core of the Alta Video Management System, which monitors and manages video cameras, access control systems and sensors. This is a hybrid role based out of the Uxbridge office for 1 to 2 days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, design and maintain the entire backend ecosystem of the Alta Video Management System.
• Develop new features, add capabilities and increase capacity.
• Maintain the existing CI/CD systems and customer deployments.

Required profile

• Experience as a software developer.
• Experience building the backend of large cloud-based distributed systems.
• Enthusiasm to learn new languages and frameworks; familiarity with Go is not expected.
• Passion for writing high-quality code and ability to solve complex problems autonomously.

Required skills

• Backend language such as Go, C++, Java, Rust or Python.
• Bonus: understanding of service-oriented architectures and cloud-based products.
• Bonus: experience with machine learning, computer vision and AI technologies.
