IT Infrastructure & Security Technician

About the role

The company is a market‑leading manufacturing business seeking an IT Infrastructure & Security Technician to maintain, monitor and secure its IT environment. You will work across LAN, WAN, servers and security controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external audits while providing day‑to‑day support.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, switches, Hyper‑V, SAN, UPS, user devices and phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, hardware and security incidents, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure infrastructure and software comply with internal policies, security standards and audit requirements.
• Prepare evidence and documentation for audits such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 and GDPR.
• Perform patching, firmware updates, vulnerability remediation and general system maintenance.
• Monitor hardware stock levels and assist with ordering/replenishment.
• Support IT and security awareness activities and track training completion.
• Maintain security controls, processes and documentation, escalating risks to the manager.
• Collaborate with the MIS team to meet incident, problem and vulnerability resolution SLAs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in an IT role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to plan and implement new technologies proactively.
• Experience working with technology vendors to specify requirements and procure solutions.
