IT Support Engineer

About the role

The client is a respected international advisory firm seeking a proactive IT Support Engineer to join a growing team. The role is hands‑on, providing first‑ and second‑line support to office‑based and remote staff while helping to maintain and improve the organisation's IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑ and second‑line technical support for Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, VPN, printing and hardware issues.
• Own incidents and service requests from investigation through to resolution, ensuring high‑quality customer service.
• Maintain network infrastructure, including switches, wireless networks and firewalls.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives and assist junior team members as the department expands.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks related to IT operations and system improvements.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on experience in a 2nd‑line IT support role or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a logical troubleshooting approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Microsoft 365 administration and support
• Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
• Microsoft Intune or comparable endpoint management platform
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN
• Service desk ticketing systems
• Network switches, wireless networks, firewalls
