IT Systems Administrator – Manchester (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to take ownership of our internal IT function and help transition services in‑house for a fast‑growing digital transformation consultancy. Based in Manchester with a hybrid working model, you will build a secure, scalable environment while supporting day‑to‑day user needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day IT support, including user onboarding, off‑boarding and issue resolution.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory.
• Manage patching, monitoring and remote support tools.
• Support Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 security initiatives.
• Lead the transition from an external managed service provider to a fully in‑house IT function.

Required profile

• Strong experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of an internal IT environment.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical users.
• Security‑conscious with strong documentation abilities.
